Halal Certification for Ebrofrost

Ebrofrost now offers pasta and Asian noodles from Halal manufacture

Muslim dietary rules are based on the Koran, the sacred scripture of Islam, and the Sunna. Important terms are halal and haram. Halal means “that which is allowed, permitted and granted in everyday life“. Haram describes the opposite. In-between there is makruh which describes everything that is not expressively forbidden or permitted (faithful Muslims avoid this area).

The rules are also binding all manufacturers that want to praise their products as being halal – they must complete a complex certification process to get certified. Ebrofrost cooperated with Halal Control GmbH (www.halalcontrol.de), a testing and certification company which is accredited in many countries all over the world.

Ebrofrost offers Halal certified products for food manufacturing and restaurant chains.

History

1988 Foundation of Keck Spezialitäten GmbH by Stephan Keck in Marktstrasse 15 in Offingen and start of the production and distribution of Swabian pasta such as spaetzle and Maultaschen to the catering trade.

1993 Installation of the first continuous cooking plant (capacity 400 kg / h)

1995 Start of the three-shift production plant

1997 Extension of the assortment by Mediterranean pasta and supply of the ready meals industry

1998 Installation of a second continuous cooking plant (400 kg / h)

2000 BIO certification

2003 Move to the new factory at Rappenwoerthstrasse 5, Offingen. Capacity doubled to 1600 kg / h on just one line (1)

2004 BRC certification and start of rice production

2005 Expansion of production capacity by another production line (2) (1000 kg / h)

2006/7 Construction and commissioning of a pasta nests line (3)

2008 Expansion of production capacity for fresh pasta on line 2 to 2500 kg / h

2010 Construction of a fully automatic deep-freeze high-bay warehouse for initially 4000 pallets

2011 Construction of a new energy center and commissioning of a CHP with 1200 KW electrical power.

2013 Merger with and integration of our biggest competitor „Danrice“.

2014 Expansion of the high-bay warehouse by an additional 3500 pallets of parking spaces

2015 Expansion of the nests line from 550 kg / h to 850 kg / h.

2016 Construction of the EBROFROST UK plant (Beckley / Rye)

2017 Construction of the Ebrofrost USA plant (Memphis)

2018 Capacity expansion of line 1 – from 2500 kg / h to 3400 kg / h
